90s and 2000s R&B and hip-hop
Little Moses Jones
Six piece with its own sound engineer. Covers, and originals on request.
You know what happens at a party when the first bars of Regulate come on and the whole floor comes in on the first line. Little Moses Jones is a six-piece band that plays that moment for a whole night, the 90s and 2000s R&B and hip-hop everyone grew up on, as one long set with the verses rapped live.

Trusted and booked by
Two singers work the front of Little Moses Jones, and behind them the bandleader plays keys and horns over guitar, bass and drums. The set runs straight through with no gap between the songs, so nobody leaves the floor to wait for the next one.
The song list runs Usher, TLC, Destiny's Child, Mary J. Blige, Outkast, Missy Elliott, Nelly and Montell Jordan, with the soul and funk records those songs came from threaded through it, and the set on the night is built for the crowd in front of it. They play a clean version of the show for an office party or a gala and the full version for a late night, so the same band suits both.
The band has nearly two decades of live work behind it. It has played for Google, Pearson and a Denver Broncos pregame, galas for the Boys and Girls Club and the Denver Children's Foundation, festival stages at Parker Days, Burro Days and Juneteenth in Thornton, and dates in Amsterdam and Mexico. In 2022 the LUXlife awards named it Colorado's wedding band of the year.
It books as a six piece with its own sound engineer, so there's no separate audio company to hire, and it's a Denver band that plays the Front Range and the mountain towns.
Occasions
Who books Little Moses Jones.
- Office holiday parties
- The whole company grew up on these records, whatever department they sit in, so the floor fills without anyone being talked onto it, at a downtown Denver venue or your own office.
- Conference after-parties and galas
- The hour after the program, for a ballroom crowd that flew in from everywhere and came up on the same songs. The band’s own engineer runs the sound, so the move from the speeches to the dance floor is one crew’s job.
- Milestone birthdays
- A 40th for people who were in high school when these songs were on the radio, booked as the whole band at a venue with a floor for it.
- Wedding receptions
- A reception where the couple wants the floor full from the first song, with the first dance learned on request. On their own site the band also plays the ceremony and the cocktail hour with a smaller lineup, so one band can take the whole day. Send us the date and we’ll price it.
We plan the set around speeches and a program with your run of show. What live music costs across Colorado, size by size, is in the cost guide.

Little Moses Jones questions
Stage sizes and power are on the technical page, and the questions every booking shares are on the full question list.
- What does Little Moses Jones play?
- The 90s and 2000s R&B and hip-hop, from Usher, TLC and Destiny's Child to Outkast, Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, Warren G and Snoop Dogg, with soul and funk classics in the set. It's a Denver band booked through Signet Artists.
- Can the show be kept clean for an office party?
- Yes. Tell us whether it's a work crowd or a family crowd when you send the date, and the set is built to it.
- How big is the band, and what does it need from the venue?
- Six musicians and a sound engineer who travels with them. The band plays through its own sound system or the venue's, needs three dedicated 20-amp circuits for its instruments, or six when it brings the full sound and lights, and the stage plot and input list come with the booking.
- How long does the band play?
- Sets run from sixty to ninety minutes, up to three hours of music across the night, with the breaks planned around your program.
- Will they learn our first dance?
- Yes. The band learns a first dance or one special song on request, and the set is built around your crowd, with the must-plays and the must-avoids taken in advance.
- Do they play outside Denver?
- Yes. The band plays Denver, the Front Range and the mountain towns, and has played dates in Amsterdam and Mexico. Travel is priced with the date.
