Client dinners, member and association evenings, private clubs, firms and showrooms book it: the evenings where nobody dances and the evening still has to sound like somebody thought about it. Most start with the jazz duo, for an hour around a toast or a whole dinner, and it’s one branch of our corporate work.

A client dinner is a table of people who were invited to talk to each other, so the music is set to the conversation: quiet enough that nobody leans in, present enough that the evening sounds hosted.
A duo is built for that. Upright bass and guitar playing standards leave the middle of the sound open, so the conversation sits on top of the music, and two musicians can hold a dinner for hours at the same level. The music lifts a little between courses and stops when somebody stands up to speak, planned with your run of show.
A toast gets an announcement microphone, and the music stops while your speaker is still steps away from it. If the dinner wants a singer out front, Tejas Singh plays the same hours as a duo. A solo pianist plays the same dinner on the venue’s piano, or on a stage piano we bring.

- How loud is a jazz duo during dinner?
- About the level of the conversation at the table, so your guests talk across it without raising their voices, and the duo holds that level all evening. If your venue or club has a sound limit, let us know when you book and we'll plan the evening around it.
- Can you invoice against a purchase order?
- Yes. We can be set up as a vendor and quote against a PO, and we can send whatever paperwork your finance team or the club needs. Just let us know what the process looks like.
- How much space does the duo need?
- A corner of about 8 by 6 feet, one dedicated 20-amp circuit, and an hour to set up, which can run through a service corridor. No stage and no house sound system are needed. Sets run 45 to 60 minutes with 15 to 20 minutes between them, and music continues through the breaks.
